ClimateWORKS Walkerton Spring 2016

ClimateWORKs Walkerton

was held on May 5th, 2016 with students from Walkerton District Community School. Thanks to Ms. Speers and Ms. Byers for their support of the event and a special thanks to the Filsinger’s, The Walkerton Fire Department, Greg Wilhelm from Inside Out Renovations and Tori Waugh from Saugeen Conservation for their role in the event.

The goal of the day was to expose students to some of the job opportunities that exist as a result of an increased awareness of the impacts of climate change and the need to respond. Reducing the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from our homes as well as being better prepared for emergencies that result from extreme weather will create needed jobs in the future.

Special Thanks to Bruce Power for their sponsorship of the day and to Saugeen Conservation for their ongoing support of CareerWORKSBP_logo logo-svca
