2019 kicks off big

GBSusNet is entering it’s 10th year of operation as an Ontario Not for Profit corporation…more recently know as a “social enterprise”. Over the years, with the support of many people and financial sponsors, we have developed projects that have truly sustained themselves and we have just recently jumped into some new areas of real interest and importance.

Our ongoing projects include Sustainable Living Workshops – this year a Sustainable Energy Workshop in Owen Sound in mid May – planning in progress; Coffeehouse Collective event being planned in Clarkesburg – know any local musicians?? – Binder DeConstruction project continues in Walkerton; Plans to continue our “Playhouse Mudding Project” at Riverstone Retreat outside Durham; An EcoRaster permeable paving project at the Community Garden in Walkerton/Brockton and once again we are planning a Fall Food Gathering ’19 !!! Our CareerWORKS school program is also continuing with events planned in Kincardine, Port Elgin, Walkerton/Hanover and Owen Sound.

Finally, new projects include work with the Food Security Action Group (FSAG) and United Way Bruce Grey delivering a Food Security HUB project in several communities around GB – Welcome aboard staff person Kim Edwards from Thornbury! We are also excited to be working with the local Community Foundation Bruce Grey on the Great Lakes One Water (GLOW) project which, in partnership with groups in Michigan is looking at the potential for “green infrastructure” projects to create more storm resilient urban and rural landscapes … literally, on the ground.

Finally, again, we are excited to have moved from the L. B. Randall Productions home office to a location in the Harmony Centre in downtown Owen Sound…new address is 890 4th St. E…phone is the same 519-889-0695…gbsusnet@gmail.com .

Got a project??? Stop by and let’s chat! Happy Winter.
