End of Summer ….

Hard to believe the Labour Day Weekend is almost upon us and “back to school” and “back to work” is being uttered under tentative breaths throughout Grey Bruce and beyond. For the lucky ones who are looking forward to getting back at it, this time of year offers challenges and opportunities galore in getting to know new people, exploring new courses and projects, and finding out what everyone did over their somewhat short summer.

For GBSusNet, projects are where it’s at these days and the one’s in the works include – WaterWORKS and EnergyWORKS events at local schools, Collective Coffeehouse events in Paisely (Back Eddies – Thursday Sept 25th) and

Flesherton at The Bicycle Cafe (Thursday, October 16th at 7:00 PM)

as well as a 2nd Sustainable Living Workshop at Kimbercote Farm near Kimberly in the Beaver Valley (Saturday, October 25th).

We are also continuing work on our Sustainability Asset Map (SAM), a Composting Pilot Project in Brockton; Film Plastic Recycling; Bruce Power Beach Party Waste Management Project as well as working with our Intern Amanda Stanger. Check out the projects tab on  for more info on these and other projects.

Let us know if you’ve got a project idea for your community we can help facilitate!!!!
