Experience Green at Bruce Power
A Celebration of Earth Day
April 22, 2013
Introduction
The Grey Bruce Sustainability Network (GBSusNet) was honoured to assist Bruce Power in planning and delivering the first “Experience Green” event at the Bruce Power site near Tiverton, Ontario. The purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity for some of the 3000 Bruce Power employees to explore opportunities in their own communities for “greening” their home, properties and workplace.
Bruce Power’s participation in the earlier Experience Green event in Owen Sound 2012 prompted them to invite GBSusNet to call on their network to gather once again and share their products, services and experiences to a larger audience.
Bruce Power has estimated that close to 500 staff passed through the ExGreen exhibition over the course of the day.

Next Steps for GBSusNet
Having hosted the co-ordination of two successful “experience green” events as well as a number of other environmental and “social enterprise” programs, GBSusNet is beginning to find an imortant “niche” in Grey Bruce. Bringing together the providers of” green” or environmentally friendly products and services with an audience of people interested in these products and services very directly matches the mandate of GBSusNet.
We look forward to continued work with our network of “producers and conservers” and hosting future events that support the movement towards a sustainable Grey Bruce.
